New Crew Carwash to Potentially Mow Their Grass This Week

JANESVILLE — In a shocking development that has left residents speechless, Crew Carwash, the automated carwash company set to take over the old Hardee’s location on 2328 Humes Road, has confirmed that they will be mowing their grass this upcoming week.

While some locals believed the Crew Carwash was looking to set a record for the tallest grass in the city, the Indiana-based chain has bucked the trend.

“We have heard the community loud and clear. One of our unpaid interns named Jeremy will load up his parents’ push mower and take care of it soon,” said Bill Dahm, CEO of Crew Carwash. “We want to right this wrong and make it clear to the city of Janestown that we care.”

When asked if he meant to say “Janesville,” Dahm declined to comment. Then, blamed his assistant when he thought he had hung up the phone. Unfortunately, he had not hung up the phone and our Janesville Globe reporter heard the entire thing.

Not everyone in town is blaming Crew Carwash, however. Some say that some espionage may be at play.

“I could have sworn that I saw ‘Mr. Splash’ himself, pouring fertilizer and water on the grounds of Crew Carwash to make the grass grow even faster,” said Matt Triole, 34, of Janesville. “Oh yeah, black polo shirt, yellow hat. It was definitely him.”

While the announcement of the Crew Carwash location was made in October 2025, no clear construction has started on the property.

Both city officials and Crew Carwash executives have said that the project has been delayed as they are waiting for the Mount Zion road construction to be completed before they start demolition.
