JANESVILLE — After local investigators debated various theories, the true identity of the peculiar tree along Milton Avenue in Janesville has finally been revealed.
The owner of the home (and the forbidden tree) confirmed to Janesville Globe staff that the tree has evolved ever since a local witch passed suddenly near the base of the tree.
“It actually started as a standard oak tree until that fateful night when my good friend Lucinda Frostweaver had a sudden heart attack,” said Jennifer Flores, the homeowner. “Ever since then, it has slowly transformed more and more into her likeness.”
Many Janesville residents have commented on the Milton Avenue tree and its eerie human shape, comparing it to that one island that turns into a person in Moana.
No one had the nerve to ask the homeowner, as the house had a strange Sandlot aura about it.
Turns out, the Flores family is full of lovely people. Well, except for their hermit Uncle Todd, who was seen slipping a powder into the aforementioned enchantress’s coffee mug the night of her death.
Todd denied any wrongdoing when interviewed by the Globe, but he said it in a very suspicious tone. His basement “man cave” also had a flag hung on the wall that said, “Take Me to My Happy Place (Salem, Massachusetts).”
